MEET PAULINA & JEFF
Paulina Meader is a Mi'kmaw woman from the traditional lands of Unama-ki and grew up in Membertou First Nation. Paulina was born with cystic fibrosis; as such, she has dealt with health-related issues for most of her life. Paulina and Jeff met in 2011, and they speak to the many challenges they have faced together in the video below.
Recently, a new prescription drug therapy has resulted in a vast improvement in Paulina’s cystic fibrosis symptoms, and she has returned to the workforce full time. Paulina is an emergency nurse, and Jeff is a network administrator serving Indigenous communities. After 11 unpredictable years together, they are cherishing the new stability in Paulina's health and hope to move towards the next chapter of their lives: owning a home where their family can grow and flourish. For Paulina and Jeff, a home of their own means a chance to create generational change and build a secure future for their family.
